The Bir Clay Studio: Pottery Workshops

Explore clay in a small, guided group at The Bir Clay Studio, near the Bir landing site. Suitable for beginners aged 5 and above; children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Choose your experience:

• Wheel throwing: a 25-minute guided introduction on the pottery wheel, ₹650 excluding the piece. Optional glazing and firing costs ₹750 per piece, including shipping.
• Hand-building: a two-hour session using slab rolling, pinching and coiling, ₹1,800 including one fired piece and shipping. Additional pieces cost ₹900 each, including shipping.
• Paint a piece: one hour decorating a handmade piece in your own style, ₹700–₹1,200 depending on size and shape. Shipping is ₹200 per piece.

The studio works on small-to-medium pieces under 5 inches in height and width, with a choice of four glazes. Glazed and fired work is normally ready to ship about 45 days after the workshop. Clay may shrink, crack or develop imperfections during drying and firing.

Book at least a day ahead and share your preferred date, batch and participant count. A ₹500-per-person advance confirms the booking, subject to availability. Arrive 10–15 minutes early; late arrival may shorten the session. Extra studio time is ₹300 per 30 minutes.
