A high monastery town near the Bhutan border, home to India's largest gompa and reached over the Sela Pass. Monpa culture runs deep here, and the calendar turns on great monastery festivals against a backdrop of alpine lakes and passes.
Once we're live, expect the big monastery festivals — Torgya and the Tawang Festival — high-pass treks, and the Monpa cultural events that gather around the gompa each season.
