Why On The Hills exists
Posters get taped to a café window for one weekend and are never seen again. We started On The Hills so you don't have to be in five WhatsApp groups to know a gig, hike or market is happening near you.
What we do
We collect what's happening in India's hill towns — gigs, open mics, hikes, workshops, markets — into one weekly list, town by town. We're live in the Dhauladhar corridor of Himachal, around Dharamshala and McLeodganj, and building out from there: more of Himachal next, then Uttarakhand, Sikkim and the Northeast.
Checked by a person, always
A poster comes in and software reads off the date, price and venue — but nothing publishes on that alone. Someone on our team looks at every listing before it goes live, and if a detail's still unclear, we hold it back rather than guess. An event with the wrong address or the wrong day isn't a mistake we're willing to ship.
Hill towns only
We don't cover Delhi, Mumbai, or any city on the plains — there are plenty of apps for that already. On The Hills is built specifically for hill towns: their pace, their WhatsApp-group supply chain, their thinner event listings that deserve to be found anyway.
