A small town built around Sumendu lake, with a footbridge across the water and pine forest on the far shore, in the western Darjeeling hills near the Nepal border. Orange orchards and tea estates such as Thurbo surround it, and the Bokar monastery looks down on the lake.
Once we're live, expect lakeside fairs and boating days, tea-estate walks, orange-season markets in winter, and the festivals at Bokar monastery above the town.
