About the event
A Hindustani classical Khayal vocal competition with junior (12–17 years) and senior (18–35 years) categories, open to all eligible singers.
The competition has three rounds. For the online screening, juniors submit a five-minute Drut Khayal recording; harmonium is allowed. Seniors submit an eight-minute Bada and Chhota Khayal recording with only tanpura and tabla accompaniment. Selected singers perform live before judges at Tanpura House in round two. The grand finale features a 20-minute performance.
The senior winner receives ₹4,100 and the junior winner ₹3,100, along with a trophy. All finalists receive a 40-minute featured-artist slot at the next Baithak.
Participants must arrange their own instruments. Tanpura House provides an electronic tanpura and a tabla accompanist only.
Online screening entries close on 15 November 2026. This is the submission deadline, not a live performance date.
Round one is free; after selection, the participation fee is ₹800 for juniors and ₹1,100 for seniors.
Dates and times for the live rounds have not been announced.
